Previously we have talked about finding keywords that represent what the public is looking for in your area of expertise, as well as what types of products we can sell on our website. Then, we looked at some affiliate program websites with an eye to finding some quality products to sell on our site.
Now we need to choose a website name or domain name. The name of your website should reflect the main keyword that you have chosen for your area of expertise. If you know alot about budgies and, through your keyword research, you found that a lot of people are looking for information on how to train budgies (budgie training is your keyword phrase) and you know how to do that (and there is not a lot of competition in this market) you have found a niche market just for you! Now you need a website, which starts with registering a name. Whether you sell other people's products or give away free ebooks on your website, you still need a name that reflects your topic.
What you don't need is a website with your name in the url. No one will find this website unless they know you and no one can tell what this website is about by looking at the name. If you find that the name www.budgietraining.com is available (I don't know if it is or not), this would be perfect for you since your keyword is "budgie training".
There are a number of places you can check to see if a url or website name is available to purchase. It costs about $10.00 per year to own a url, so it is not a lot of money to secure a site that fits in with your keyword of choice.
Here is a great article about choosing and registering a url:

It is on the Wordtracker website and I'm sure you will find it helpful in choosing your domain or website name.
Good luck!
