So, when you are starting out in your first online business, you likely do not have a lot of money for Google Adwords accounts or other paid forms of advertising. So, what are your options for getting traffic to your site?
You have a beautiful website, great product and terrific sales copy, so of course, everyone who visits your site will buy your product but how will your customers get to your site in the first place? If you have done all of your research, your site will be optimized for your specific keywords already, but getting listed by the top search engines may take awhile.
Here is a trick that I use. Try writing a few articles and posting them to the top article directories. I like ezinearticles.com because it is very popular and, once you have expert author status, the waiting time is practically nil. You do not have to write a book for this, just articles that are about 300-400 words. Enough to say that you are an expert on your topic.
Be sure not to directly promote your product in your article. Your article should be free valuable information only. You can use your author bio to include a link to your website or blog and get traffic that way.
By choosing article directories that are popular, there is a much greater chance of your article getting indexed by the search engines quicker than your own site. If you include your keywords in your article title and throughout your article, you may start ranking for your keywords in as little as a few days. Even if it takes a week or two, it will be much shorter than waiting for the google bots!
Happy writing!

Another Free Business eBook
Hi! Today I have a free business ebook for you. It is Derrick VanDyke's "Advertising Explained". It can be downloaded here:
http://www.asselingroup.com/AdvertisingExplained.pdf
Inside you will find valuable tips and explanations of advertising techniques for your online business.
Even better than that, once you have your own online business up and running, you can give this ebook away for free on your site! So, you now have a free business ebook that you can give away on your website. What is the value in this? Lots! It is very important to offer at least something for free on your website (within your area of expertise, that is). First, it gives you credibility in that you are providing valuable information to your customers. Second, it provides a product to those who are not ready to buy from you yet - hopefully those people will remember you and eventually purchase your product! So, you have nothing to lose by giving away something on your website. Have you ever visited a website and considered buying something where they didn't give you something for free? Probably not.
So, download this free report now, start reading and planning your site and all of its advertising and sales potential!

What to write on your website?
Today, we are going to talk about what to write on your website. Earlier we talked about finding a name for our website, or url. If you have registered on (only $10.00 per year), you are probably wondering what to do to create your website. There are a couple of places you can start:
- My eBook, "Start a Successful Internet Business Today" includes 3 free business ebooks designed to help you create a successful website. You can view more details on this ebook at www.free-business-ebook.com
- Derek Gehl (an internet marketing "big wig") has a great blog which can be found at http://blog.marketingtips.com which contains a ton of great information. The article found at http://blog.marketingtips.com/wp/5-step-headline/internet-marketing-strategies contains valuable tips for creating salescopy for your website with compelling benefits and catchy headlines.
You have probably seen a number of "sales copy" websites selling a product. You scroll through the description of the product and can buy it at the end. This "long sales page" is the type that works. There are many reasons why this works (for single product websites) and Derek's blog explains some of this to you.
Once you have the basics down pat and want to try your hand at writing your own sales copy for your product, I have a great free resource for you. You can download a free copy of Sales Letter Creator, a software program that helps you build a sales copy webpage, step by step, at www.free-business-ebook.com, my website.
So, read away and get started building your website!

Choosing Your Website
Previously we have talked about finding keywords that represent what the public is looking for in your area of expertise, as well as what types of products we can sell on our website. Then, we looked at some affiliate program websites with an eye to finding some quality products to sell on our site.
Now we need to choose a website name or domain name. The name of your website should reflect the main keyword that you have chosen for your area of expertise. If you know alot about budgies and, through your keyword research, you found that a lot of people are looking for information on how to train budgies (budgie training is your keyword phrase) and you know how to do that (and there is not a lot of competition in this market) you have found a niche market just for you! Now you need a website, which starts with registering a name. Whether you sell other people's products or give away free ebooks on your website, you still need a name that reflects your topic.
What you don't need is a website with your name in the url. No one will find this website unless they know you and no one can tell what this website is about by looking at the name. If you find that the name www.budgietraining.com is available (I don't know if it is or not), this would be perfect for you since your keyword is "budgie training".
There are a number of places you can check to see if a url or website name is available to purchase. It costs about $10.00 per year to own a url, so it is not a lot of money to secure a site that fits in with your keyword of choice.
Here is a great article about choosing and registering a url:

It is on the Wordtracker website and I'm sure you will find it helpful in choosing your domain or website name.
Good luck!
